Portraits of Kristian Bader – A Military Operation in Photography
Seven years after my discharge from the Swiss military, honourable since you're asking, I got a call. My former commander needed portraits. Kristian. The man who once had opinions about my posture.
The brief was what you'd expect from a former commander: fast, efficient, no nonsense. I prepped for two hours. Shot for under one. Six setups, one location recce, zero artistic soul-searching. He was back at his desk before the coffee went cold.
Some clients bring out the philosopher in you. Kristian brought out the sergeant.
